These are the slides of charts showing the route from Florida to the Exumas. These chart images present the route from Biscayne Bay to Bimini or a direct run to the Berry Islands or to Chub Cay. Each of these three places you can check into customs. After Chub we run for West Bay off New Providence where we will anchor in the NE corner where there is more sand. From West Bay it is one last 50 nm push SE to the Exuma Cays. We like to push for Shroud Cay where we anchor and then spend a day to drift thru the lazy river and play.
From Shroud Cay, we begin our sailing in the calm lee of the Exuma Cays. Stops like Cambridge, Warderick Wells, Staniel Cay, Black Point, Lil Farmers, Rudder Cay and eventually Georgetown. Most people will push south to Georgetown ASAP so you can get away from the cold fronts that will come every 7-10 days all Dec, Jan Feb and March. So, it is best to push south fast, then take your time exploring the Exumas in the spring time as you return north.
Here are all the slides in order of the route. There is also a YouTube Video on this were we discuss this all on the Salty Abandon Podcast: Here is the link, start at the 35 min mark for the Exumas discussion on these charts
